Duraisamy Naidu founded ABBULU NAIDU FLOUR MILLS, offering contract grinding services for food grains and spices. His dedication to quality and authenticity laid the foundation for what would become a family legacy.
By 1987, the mantle was passed to MRS. NALINI KULASEKARAN, a dynamic second-generation entrepreneur. Trained by her father, she took the bold step of diversifying the family business. Recognizing Coimbatore’s growing demand for packaged spices and grains, she began catering to the city’s first departmental stores. This pivotal move transformed the small grinding service into a thriving local supply chain. Retail customers, hotels, and institutions trusted ABBULU NAIDU FLOUR MILLS for its unmatched quality.
Mrs. Nalini’s innovative spirit led her to experiment with spice blends. Starting with sambar powder, she expanded to create a variety of masalas, cereals, and pulses, all while overcoming societal norms that valued homemade methods. Her pioneering approach emphasized "quick cooking," offering busy households convenience without compromising tradition.
In 2010, the legacy continued with MRS. K. MANGALAGOWRI VENKATESAN, the third-generation leader. Armed with a master’s degree in marketing and business administration, she redefined the family business. Under her leadership, ABBULUS grew exponentially, now boasting over 70 products, including grains, lentils, spice powders, ready mixes, and multigrain blends.
Her vision? To cater to modern, busy women by offering preservative-free, healthy options that align with traditional flavors. Mrs. Mangalagowri introduced online sales and expanded retail counters globally, making “ABBULUS”a premium brand recognized worldwide.
